This is a second time we are staying in this hotel. I highly recommend it. If you want to live in the heart of historical center of Washington capital city, stay here. Wonderful morning walk on waterfront, which is three minutes away from the hotel, will enrich you with energy of this amazing city, smell of aromatic coffee and fresh pastry from many cafes nearby. The hotel rooms are very clean, smell nice, comfortable and well organized. The room is not big, but everything necessary and lightly more is there... Many pleasant and useful little things as umbrella, water bottle))) On public balconies they have tables and chairs with the view to the ancient bridge. There is a general use kitchen with coffee, tea, nice table wear and all necessities. I thank all personnel for creating caring, distinctive atmosphere, client orientation and affordable prices. Wish you success and prosperity.

Reasons to love this place: Clean, well-maintained, and modernly appointed rooms with comfortable beds. Slept like a baby. Amazing location, both historically and in terms of its proximity to the heart of Georgetown. Here’s something other reviews are missing: If you’re interested in the history of the area, this place is beyond comparison! It is right next to the canal itself, and within a few yards of an operational canal boat. The building itself is also historic. The proprietors recognize this and have, for example, dubbed the rooms “locks” instead of rooms, and provide historical context through framed guides in the hallways. My wife and I loved this, because this was our last stop after biking the GAP Trail and C&O Canal Towpath all the way from Pittsburgh. No-fuss virtual check-in. Great customer service via text or phone call, should you need it. This place is a gem. Highly recommended!

Stayed in Lock #10 for two nights in mid-October. Wonderful stay. Bottom line, I definitely recommend the Georgetown House and would (Will) stay again. Comparing the value, quality, and location across other Georgetown properties – this …

A lovely hotel in the middle of Georgetown. Room (7) was right next to the canal and we had a small veranda. Bed was perfect. No problem checking in if you read the instruction. Emailed in advance and got a code to the door to store our luggage. Highly recommended and very close to amazing restaurants.

Couldn’t have picked a better place! My husband stayed here after completing our Pittsburgh to DC bike trip. The location is directly on the towpath! And the history of the building is directly linked to the towpath; they have lots of cool photos and info about it on the walls. We picked room Lock 6, since it has a second floor porch where we could safely keep our bikes. (Still locked them though for extra safety). And they even have cameras for additional safety. The rooms are very nicely updated. I also appreciated the quiet hours and it seemed everyone respected them. There was minimal noise from the bustling Georgetown businesses. I really loved the self service coffee in the lower level kitchen. It was nice to make a cup of coffee, sit on the porch and look at the canal before getting our day started. We will definitely be staying here again if/when we return.

We stayed here 10/30 - 11/3 in Lock 11. Location is great, the street can get noisy but we didn't hear anything in our room. Service was great, we dropped our bags due to getting in early. When we went to check in, our bags were in our room. We had a living room with a futon (pulls down into a bed) and tv, bedroom had a tv, desk, other storage and rack to hang clothes and a bathroom, we also had a shared balcony facing the canal. The canal doesn't have any water due to construction to reinforce the walls (there is no construction currently going on so you don't have to worry about noise, just know you won't have a view of the water). It's about a 30 second walk to M street and less than 5 minutes to the water front. Using Uber the longest it took to get into or out of DC was 20 minutes (that was coming back from the American History museum around 4 on Halloween), with the average being around 10 for most of what we went in for. Another plus is on the bottom floor there is a full size shared fridge, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, plates etc. It's great when you have leftovers from the fabulous restaurants in the area. We stayed at The Graham last year on the street over and I will definitely choose The Georgetown House when we come back.*** update*** also stayed at the town house from 1/14-1/17. It was very spacious, clean and can’t beat the location. Alexis is amazing.

My husband and I have stayed at this very conveniently located Inn many times and really appreciate the quick follow up by the general manager, Alexis Togoon, even in the middle of the night (a recent experience). The building is old and not well sound proofed and if fellow guests do not abide by the quiet hours from 10pm-8am, it can be harder to sleep. We experienced this while in a lower level room and I was gratified when Alexis responded at midnight by offering another, quieter room right away. This excellent customer service made all the difference; I had been thinking about finding a different place to stay while in town, much as we appreciate this unique set up/location. Because of Alexis, we chose to stay an extra night and are very happy all around. Thank you once again, Alexis, and well done! Holly

Beautiful location next to the canal. Rolled in muddy and sweaty from our 7 days on thd trail. The whole staff was amazingly helpful. The rooms, showers and bed were great and all such a relaxing change. Kitchen was spotless and the coffee was delicious. Thank you for making the end of our trip so memorable despite the rain and mud.

I had to ship a slightly large package to the hotel ahead of my arrival. When I got there the package was ready for me as Alexis had said. The hotel was very accommodating and responsive to my requests. The communication was excellent and the automated check in was convenient and easy. Rooms very comfy and location amazing. Absolutely great all around
